Our Need for Spiritual Bread

“It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.” Jesus

Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones had a famous hit called "I can't get no satisfaction." I wonder if you can you relate to that confession?

The truth is however much we try to fill the God-shaped gap in our hearts with money, stuff, sex, drugs/alcohol/social media, even good food and friends, we are always left ultimately unfulfilled - empty and disappointed at best, terribly addicted and broken at worst.

When we worship and serve the creature, any created thing, rather than the Creator, life goes wrong. (Rom 1:25)

The Bible says that we were made for God and that our sin separates us from Him. Until we restore relationship with Him and enjoy His life and love, we are restless, purposeless and on a broad road to destruction, even eternally.

The good news is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to save us and reconcile us to God the Father. Out of great love for you He died on the cross as a substitute for your sin, then rose from the dead that through faith alone you might become the righteousness of God in Christ! Pure grace. Jesus doesn't want your religion, He wants relationship. Simply repent and believe in Jesus and you will be born afresh and have relationship with God forever.

At Bread we want to serve you the best food in Yeovil - both natural and spiritual.

Jesus says “I am the Bread of life”

John 6:35

Jesus wants to give you His abundant and eternal life and love. Taste and see. Come and hang out with us, drop by for a coffee, a chat, a smile, receive some free prayer. Come as you are. Let's journey together.

Perhaps you are ready to give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ even right now? Here is a prayer:

Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer. Amen.
